Malaysia operates on Malaysia Time (MYT, UTC +8), which remains the same throughout the year as the country doesn’t observe daylight saving time. This puts it seven or eight hours ahead of the UK, depending on British Summer Time.
Malaysia’s currency is the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR), often abbreviated as RM. Available in both coins and banknotes, the ringgit is widely used across the country, with notes ranging from RM1 to RM100.
The most popular time to visit is during the city’s summer and winter months, so book your clients flights for spring or autumn to enjoy this year-round destination’s attractions and culture with fewer crowds.
Once you touch down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, you’re only a 45-minute drive from the city centre and taxis can easily be found outside the airport terminal. The cheapest way to travel is by using the airport bus, which will take you to the centre of town in about an hour, or you can catch the express train to reach the city centre in 30 minutes.
