British Airways have announced that effective 1 July 2016, the baggage allowance for customers travelling in World Traveller on flights between London and Tokyo (Narita and Haneda) increased from one to two pieces. BA codeshare flights between Frankfurt and Narita will also receive a two piece baggage allowance in Economy.

• This change will brings BA in line with Siberian Joint Business partners, Japan Airlines and Finnair, who also apply an Economy baggage allowance of two pieces.

• Customers who hold Gold (oneworld Emerald) Tier status will continue to receive an additional piece of checked baggage on top of their ticketed allowance.

• Customers who purchased their ticket before 1 July 2016 will continue to receive the previous baggage allowance of one piece in World Traveller. This will be reflected in the customers ticketed baggage allowance.
