British Airways announces Winter 2024 long-haul schedule adjustments

British Airways has announced significant changes to its long-haul schedule for the Winter 2024 season. Notably, the airline's services between London Gatwick (LGW) and Cape Town (CPT) will see adjustments during this period.

From 13 December 2024, to 7 January 2025, British Airways will operate flights between London Gatwick and Cape Town three times a week. However, after 7 January 2025, the seasonal service from Gatwick to Cape Town will be suspended.

Starting 10 January 2025, all flights to Cape Town will be consolidated at London Heathrow (LHR), with three daily flights available until the end of the Winter 2024 season. This adjustment aims to streamline operations and better serve passengers traveling to this popular South African destination during the winter months.

Another of the key changes is the consolidation of services to Barbados (BGI) at London Heathrow (LHR). The winter seasonal service from London Gatwick (LGW) to Barbados will be suspended, with all flights to the Caribbean destination operating exclusively from Heathrow.

Additionally, British Airways will be boosting the frequency of flights from London Gatwick to Mauritius (MRU) from three to four weekly services. However, this increase will only apply during October and November 2024, providing more options for travellers during this period.

Travelers are encouraged to check the latest schedule updates and book their flights accordingly to ensure a smooth journey.
