British Airways is spreading holiday cheer this December with a festive experience that extends from its terminals at Heathrow and Gatwick to its lounges and flights worldwide. As part of its British Original Christmas celebrations, travellers can enjoy bespoke holiday menus, seasonal surprises, and thoughtful touches to make their journeys unforgettable.

Festive delights

Passengers passing through Heathrow and Gatwick lounges will be immersed in the holiday spirit. Highlights include:

  • Pop-up Christmas stalls: featuring British brands like Harry Specters chocolates and hand-piped treats from Biscuiteers.
  • Winter picnic menu: seasonal delights like brie and cranberry sandwiches, mince pies, and a special Christmas cocktail.
  • Exclusive tastings: concorde Room visitors can sample Talisker’s limited-edition 45-year-old Scotch whisky between December 23-25.
  • Gift wrapping station: Santa’s helpers will wrap last-minute gifts using custom snowflake wrapping paper inspired by the airline's iconic speedmarque.

Onboard Christmas cheer

The holiday magic continues in the skies, with cabins decked out with festive headrest covers and a dedicated Christmas entertainment channel. British Airways’ culinary team has crafted a traditional British turkey dinner with all the trimmings for long-haul flights, alongside a vegetarian option.
The numbers speak volumes about the festive feast: the airline expects to serve over 250,000 turkey dinners, featuring 700,000 Brussels sprouts and 40,000 pigs in blankets.

Passengers can toast the season with options like BrewDog’s Hoppy Christmas IPA and Twinings Christmas tea. In premium cabins, a winter warmer cocktail featuring Johnnie Walker is available, while First Class passengers will receive limited-edition Temperley London amenity kits and a collectible hand-painted Christmas bauble celebrating 100 years of flights to India.

Special touches for all travellers

  • Club World: enjoy British Cartwright & Butler fudge and festive afternoon tea featuring chocolate éclairs and fruitcake.
  • World Traveller: customers will receive a complimentary Christmas hat with meals from 15-27 December.
