British Airways sets the stage for a record-breaking Summer of flights to North America

British Airways is gearing up for an unprecedented summer in 2025, poised to break its own record for the most flights operated to North America in a single season.

With an impressive array of over 400 direct flights per week, spanning 26 cities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, the UK flag carrier is setting new standards in transatlantic travel.

As the largest operator of UK-U.S. flights among European airlines, British Airways continues to dominate the skies, offering unparalleled service options for business and leisure travellers alike.

British Airways is doubling down on the strength of its North American network, responding to the increasing demand for flights between the UK and the U.S. and Canada. This expansion highlights the airline’s commitment to offering more destinations, more flexibility, and a premium travel experience like no other, further cementing its position as the top European carrier flying across the Atlantic.

More flights than ever before

In its Summer 2025 schedule, British Airways will introduce a range of new flights and additional frequencies across key North American cities. This expansion is not just about adding more planes in the air; it’s about catering to a wide array of travellers—whether you're jetting off for business or looking to soak up the sun and culture in some of the most iconic cities in the U.S. and Canada.

Some of the most notable additions include:

- Miami, Florida: The gateway to the Sunshine State will now see a significant boost, with British Airways doubling its service to Miami International Airport (MIA). From June 2025, the route will feature 14 weekly flights, becoming a year-round twice-daily service. Additionally, travellers flying through Miami will enjoy a new British Airways lounge, showcasing the airline’s latest design concept, elevating the pre-flight experience.

- Austin, Texas: Since its introduction in 2014, Austin has become a popular destination in British Airways' portfolio. The airline will be adding six more flights per week, bringing the total to 13 weekly services. As Austin's tech industry continues to grow, British Airways is responding to the increasing demand for travel between this Texas hub and London.

- Las Vegas, Nevada: Known for its dazzling entertainment and iconic nightlife, Las Vegas is already a hotspot for British travellers. To keep up with demand, British Airways is adding three more flights per week during peak season, bringing the total to 10 weekly flights. This will make it easier than ever for visitors to attend major events like Rod Stewart’s “The Encore Shows” at Caesars Palace or simply enjoy the year-round excitement of the city.

- Washington, D.C.: As a vital route for both business and diplomatic travel, Washington D.C. will see a significant increase, with seven more flights per week, bringing the total to 21. This three-times-daily service ensures greater flexibility for government officials, business travelers, and tourists alike.

- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: After reintroducing the Pittsburgh route in 2019, British Airways has steadily increased its presence in the city. In 2025, it will officially become a daily service, with seven flights per week for the first time since the route’s inception.

- Vancouver, Canada: The popular Canadian destination is seeing an expansion in its summer service as well, with an increase of up to seven more flights per week from London Heathrow. This brings the total to 14 flights per week during peak season, ensuring daily connectivity from both Heathrow and Gatwick for those looking to explore British Columbia’s stunning natural landscapes.

These increased frequencies are perfectly timed for some of the hottest events of 2025, such as the Miami Grand Prix and major concerts in Las Vegas, driving increased interest and early bookings from travellers across the UK.

A First-Class experience like no other

Notably, British Airways remains the only European airline to offer a First-Class cabin on flights between London and North America.

In an age when many airlines have cut back on premium services, British Airways continues to invest in luxury, catering to high-end travellers who expect the best.

The First-Class cabin provides an unmatched level of service, with fully flat beds, exquisite dining, and access to exclusive lounges. Business and leisure travellers alike are recognizing the value of premium travel experiences, and British Airways is perfectly positioned to meet this demand.

Additionally, travellers connecting through major U.S. hubs with British Airways can access more than 100 onward destinations thanks to the airline’s partnerships with U.S. carriers.

This vast network opens up a world of possibilities, from quick business trips to major cities to off-the-beaten-path adventures across the U.S.

Expanding horizons beyond North America

While the North American expansion grabs the headlines, British Airways isn’t neglecting the rest of its global network. Other routes are also seeing significant growth, highlighting the airline’s commitment to serving key international markets.

In India, a third daily flight to Delhi has been added for Summer 2025, bringing the total number of flights to 63 per week across five destinations. This comes at a time of booming demand for air travel between the UK and India, particularly for business and diaspora travellers.

Flights from London Gatwick to Cancun, Mexico, will also increase, becoming a daily service next summer. This news is likely to be welcomed by sun-seekers looking to enjoy Mexico’s beautiful beaches and all-inclusive resorts.

Meanwhile, Florence, Kuala Lumpur, and Jeddah will all see expanded services, with additional flights ensuring British Airways remains a top choice for global travellers. The return of the London Gatwick to Bangkok route in Winter 2024 is also notable, with frequency increasing to five flights per week during peak season in early 2025.

Looking to the future

British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, Neil Chernoff, underscored the significance of these network changes, noting, “The U.S. remains a priority market for us, and we know these network changes will be welcomed by both our business and leisure customers, providing more options than ever before to travel between the UK and the USA.”

The airline’s commitment to expanding its network, upgrading services, and enhancing the customer experience reflects a clear strategy: to solidify its position as the leading transatlantic carrier. With more routes, increased frequencies, and luxurious First-Class cabins, British Airways is setting the stage for an exceptional summer season in 2025.

As the airline continues to navigate the evolving demands of global air travel, its expansion across North America and beyond is a testament to British Airways’ resilience, innovation, and dedication to delivering world-class service for every type of traveller. Whether flying for business or pleasure, British Airways is ready to take your clients there—faster, more comfortably, and with more options than ever before.
