British Airways have announced that IndiGo’s (6E) Business cabin, IndiGoStretch, is now available on selected gateway-to-gateway BA codeshare routes, enhancing their Indian premium selling proposition.  


British Airways are IndiGo’s first airline partner to offer the cabin. Flights are on sale now via www.lime-management.com

What is this codeshare and what are the benefits? 

The agreement means that British Airways customers travelling from towns and cities across India can connect via Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai to their final destination in London, North America or beyond on a single ticket. The expanded codeshare partnership will offer more choice and flexibility to our customers and will enable travel from 23 Indian cities with British Airways code, such as Goa or Ahmedabad. 

 
What is some key information? 

IndiGo is a LCC operating from India, founded in 2005, offering a large domestic and regional network 

It operates independently under the 6E carrier code 

Has the biggest network in India holding a 61% capacity share in the market 

 
How many routes will British Airways codeshare on? 

British Airways has expanded its codeshare to 23 destinations and 41 6E operated routes. 
The codeshare routes are optimised to provide the shortest possible journey time via the best connecting gateway in India.

Can I earn Avios and tier points?  

The British Airways Club members can earn Avios and tier points when flying on IndiGo on a British Airways codeshare journey. 


What is Indigo’s baggage allowance? 

British Airways checked baggage policy will apply for connecting flights onto IndiGo. However, the hand luggage policy will be set by Indigo at 7 kg free for overhead stowage. 

 
Can customers purchase additional baggage on IndiGo operated services? 

Customers will be able to purchase additional baggage at the airport. 

 
What is the onboard customer experience like at IndiGo? 

British Airways connecting customers will be offered a complimentary light meal when flying on IndiGo, consisting of a sandwich, snack and non-alcoholic drink. 

 
Can customers select their meal preference prior to travelling on IndiGo?
 
Yes, customers are able to select their meal preference by accessing Manage My Booking on 6E’s website using their operating PNR and surname. 

 
Which fare types will be available to book a reservation?
 
As they are using a British Airways codeshare flight number it will all be British Airways rules and fare types that can be booked. 
 

What will be the cancellation / rescheduling policy be for codeshare flights? 

As they are using a British Airways codeshare flight number it will all be British Airways rules and re-scheduling policy that will apply. 

 
Can customers select a seat prior to travelling on IndiGo? 

Yes, customers are able to purchase seat selection on the IndiGo sector(s) of their journey by accessing Manage My Booking on 6E’s website using their operating PNR and surname. 


Can customers check-in online?  

If the first operating carrier is British Airways, customers may check-in online via the British Airways website or app. 

 
If the first operating carrier is IndiGo, customers must check-in at the airport. British Airways aim to enable online check-in through 6E’s website in the coming months and will update you once this is available. 

 
Can customers book IndiGo’s new business cabin, IndiGoStretch? 

Yes, IndiGoStretch is now available to purchase for customers connecting to/from British Airways First or Club cabins. IndiGo currently operates the cabin on selected routes, typically metro-to-metro routes such as Delhi-Mumbai. 

 
What routes is IndiGoStretch available? 

IndiGo currently operates the cabin on selected routes, typically metro-to-metro routes, and is expected to gradually increase as it introduces more ‘Stretch’ aircraft into the fleet. 
The cabin is currently available on selected flights on four BA codeshare routes: 

• BOM-BLR 
• BOM-DEL 
• DEL-HYD 
• DEL-MAA 

 
What is the IndiGoStretch customer experience like? 

The IndiGoStretch product offers priority check-in and boarding, a complimentary hot meal with beverages and a spacious recliner seat with extra legroom. 

 
When do the IndiGoStretch flights go on sale? 

On sale from 12 August 2025. 
 

When will travel dates be from?  

From 14 August 2025 onwards.
