Rebecca's trip to Canada

Take a look at this update from Rebecca, the winner of a recent Lime booking incentive, where she won British Airways flights to Canada!

“O Canada… beneath thy shining skies.”

Our adventure began at Heathrow Terminal 5 on a glorious sunny morning. The terminal was buzzing, but with check-in already sorted, the airport process was quick and smooth. Before long, we were enjoying breakfast at Wagamama’s, ready to start our journey.

The flight was busy but comfortable, and before we knew it, we’d landed in beautiful Toronto.

Navigating the airport was simple, and soon we were heading downtown to check into our hotel. After settling in, we ventured out to explore the local area and stumbled upon the Amsterdam Brewhouse, which offered not only great drinks but fantastic food too. We wrapped up the evening early to help adjust to the new time zone.

The next morning greeted us with pouring rain but that didn’t stop us!

We visited Little Canada (highly recommended!) and decided to hop on a sightseeing bus to explore more of the city. Donning our bright red ponchos, we toured both Old and New Toronto, taking in the charming streets despite the weather.

When the sun finally broke through, we arrived at the Distillery District in search of lunch. The glistening sign of Mill Street Brewpub caught our eye, and we couldn’t resist indulging in some local favourites, beer and a hearty serving of poutine.

Because no meal is complete without dessert, so naturally, we found an ice cream shop and treated ourselves (rain or shine, there’s always room for ice cream!).

That evening, we returned to the Distillery District for dinner at El Catrin, where the homemade guacamole deserves a special mention. It was absolutely delicious!

The following day brought sunshine and perfect sightseeing weather. We explored some of Toronto’s iconic landmarks, including the Ripley’s Aquarium and the CN Tower, where we captured stunning views of the city from above. Later, we took a relaxing boat cruise across Lake Ontario, circling the small islands and taking plenty of photos.

That evening, we dined at the renowned Richmond Station restaurant, and it lived up to every expectation, superb food, fantastic service, and a wonderful atmosphere. With an early start ahead, we called it a night.

The next morning, we checked out and boarded the train to Niagara Falls. The two-hour journey was smooth and scenic, and upon arrival, we checked into our hotel before heading out to Peller Estates Winery for a tour and some wine tasting.

Afterwards, we visited the picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, where we enjoyed some famous Cows Ice Cream and strolled through its charming streets. Later that evening, we returned to Niagara Falls to watch the incredible light show and fireworks over the water.

The next day, we experienced the falls up close aboard the Hornblower Cruise, venturing right into the mist, a truly unforgettable experience witnessing the sheer power of nature.

That evening, we dined at the famous Keg Steakhouse, which absolutely lived up to its reputation. We ended the night with a relaxed drink at Niagara Brewing before heading back to the hotel.

Before heading home, we decided to see Niagara from a different perspective, the sky! The Niagara Helicopters tour offered breathtaking views and the perfect way to cap off our trip.

Back at the hotel, we packed our bags, picked up a few final souvenirs, and began our transfer from Niagara Falls to Toronto Airport. The journey was smooth, check-in was effortless, and we even had time to relax before our flight.

Our return to the UK was seamless, filled with memories of incredible food, beautiful sights, and the warm Canadian spirit that made this trip truly unforgettable, especially as it was our honeymoon.
